Monk
This page was last checked against game version 0.2.1; the game is now at 0.3.0. Some explanations may be out of date (tables are always current).
The Monk is a close-combat fighter who channels Qi through fists and breath. The class adds Strength and Wisdom, more crit chance and more Qi from meditation, so it grows strongest through cultivation.
How to get
Section titled “How to get”Reach level 15 and pass the trial at the Soul Shrine in Dawnmere Village. Losing the trial costs nothing; see Classes.
Skills
Section titled “Skills”Palm Strike — your main attack. It is cheap and costs stamina, but it has a cooldown. Fill the rounds in between with
Qi Burst or a normal attack.
Flowing Step — a dodge stance that also heals you a little. Use it right before a heavy hit, for example when a boss grows stronger at half HP.
Iron Body — raises your defence for a few rounds. Cast it early against hard hitters that can strike twice, like
Wild Boar or
Moss Golem.
Qi Burst — your big mana hit. It ignores part of the enemy’s defence and uses your element affinity. Wisdom makes it stronger, and it shines against high-defence enemies.
| Skill | Cost | Cooldown | Effects |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 Stamina | 1 round |
| |
| 5 Stamina | 3 rounds |
| |
| 6 Mana | 4 rounds |

| 10 Mana | 3 rounds |

Skills grow stronger with mastery the more you use them.
Class gear
Section titled “Class gear”From level 15 you craft the pieces of your class set yourself; only your class can wear them. See Class gear.

- Split your points. Strength powers
Palm Strike and normal attacks; Wisdom powers
Qi Burst, your mana and your Qi.
- Meditate a lot. The passive Qi bonus makes each breakthrough come sooner, and every stage raises your HP, attack and defence.
- Pick your affinity with care. At stage 2 your affinity decides the element of
Qi Burst. Choose one that is strong against the monsters you fight most.
- Keep stamina for
Flowing Step. A dodge at the right moment saves more HP than one extra strike deals damage.
