Chat and friends
This page was last checked against game version 0.2.1; the game is now at 0.3.0. Some explanations may be out of date (tables are always current).
The chat connects you with other players: a global channel per language, your guild’s channel, private whispers and announcements from the team. Your friends list shows who is online. If someone bothers you, block them; if someone breaks the rules, report them.
Which chat channels are there?
Section titled “Which chat channels are there?”| Tab | Who reads and writes | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Global | everyone reads; writing from level 5 with a verified email | one public channel per language: English and German are separate channels |
| Guild | members of your guild | your guild’s own channel, see Guilds |
| Whispers | you and one other player | private conversations |
| System | read-only | announcements from the team, e.g. before maintenance |
English and German are separate global channels. By default you see both, each in its own tab (“Global EN”, “Global DE”), with the tab of your game language first. Under Global chat languages in the settings you can keep only one of them.
What are the chat rules?
Section titled “What are the chat rules?”- Short messages. A message has at most 200 characters; a counter shows how many you have left. You can link up to 2 items per message; they appear as item cards others can open.
- No links or contact details. Web addresses, email addresses and phone numbers are rejected everywhere. This protects everyone from phishing and real-money traders.
- Slow mode. In the global chat you have to wait 8 s between messages, 30 s while you are below level 10. Guild chat and whispers allow short bursts. Sending the same text twice within a short time is refused.
- Word filter. Some words are replaced with
***; others are refused. Several refused messages in a short time mute you for a while automatically.
If you are muted, a banner shows until when. You can still read, and you can appeal a mute from the banner.
How do whispers work?
Section titled “How do whispers work?”Tap a player’s name in the chat or in your friends list and choose Whisper. Replies arrive in the Whispers tab. The tab lists your recent conversations, newest first, with unread messages marked; the list survives a reload. Whispering needs level 5 and a verified email.
- By default anyone can whisper to you. In Chat and privacy you choose who may: Everyone, Friends and guild or Nobody.
- A whisper from someone who is neither your friend nor in your guild is marked Not a friend, with Block and Report right next to it.
- To start conversations with strangers yourself, your account needs at least 3 days of play. You can then whisper 5 new people per day, and 20 from 7 days of play. The Whispers tab shows how many you have left today. Replies in an existing conversation don’t count.
Never share your password, and don’t trade outside the game. Real trades happen in the Auction House.
Friends
Section titled “Friends”Search a player by name (type at least 3 letters) or tap a name in the chat, then Add friend. They can accept or decline; you can withdraw a request you sent. There is a limit on how many requests you can send per hour, and your friends list holds up to 100 friends. Removing a friend is silent.
Your friends (and your guild) see:
- whether you are online, unless you hide it (Show when you are online),
- where you are, unless you turn off Show your location,
- the day you were last seen.
Under Friend requests you can also stop accepting requests from anyone.
Who can invite you to a party?
Section titled “Who can invite you to a party?”Under Who can invite you to a party you choose who may invite you to a party: Everyone, Friends and guild (the default) or Nobody. Blocked players can never invite you.
Profiles
Section titled “Profiles”Tap any name to open the player’s profile: name and family, level, class, realm, guild tag, whether they are online (if they allow it), their member badge and a short biography. You write your own biography (up to 200 characters) in the settings; it follows the chat rules, and after a change you have to wait 10 min before the next one.
How do I block someone?
Section titled “How do I block someone?”Open the player’s profile or tap their name in the chat and choose Block. A blocked player:
- can’t whisper to you, send you friend requests or invite you to a guild or party,
- disappears from your view of the public channels,
- is removed from your friends.
Blocking is silent: the other player is not told. You can unblock from their profile or under Blocked players in the settings. You can block up to 200 players.
How do I report someone?
Section titled “How do I report someone?”Tap the name or the message and choose Report (Report player on a profile). You can report a message, a player or a biography. Pick a reason and add a note if you like:
- Spam or advertising
- Harassment or insults
- Hate speech
- Real-money trading
- Cheating or bots
- Offensive name
- Something else
The moderators see the reported message together with the lines before it, so you don’t need to copy anything. Moderators only see whispers that were reported. Reporting a stranger’s whisper also blocks them for you. A message reported by several experienced players is hidden until a moderator has looked at it.
Moderators can warn, mute, restrict trading or ban. Every sanction is explained in the game and can be appealed.
Tips and common mistakes
Section titled “Tips and common mistakes”- Block first, argue never. Blocking takes one tap and ends the conversation for good.
- Check the GM or Mod tag. Anyone without it who claims to be staff is not staff.
- Report scams and gold sellers. Choose “Real-money trading” — it helps keep prices fair for everyone.
- Keep your location private if you like. It is only shown to friends and guild, and you can turn it off.
