Recovery
This page was last checked against game version 0.2.1; the game is now at 0.3.0. Some explanations may be out of date (tables are always current).
Recovery is how your HP and mana come back after fights. HP and mana carry over from fight to fight, finished actions never heal you, and outside fights both regenerate a little at fixed marks of the clock. For a quick full heal you sleep; in between you eat or drink.
How does passive regeneration work?
Section titled “How does passive regeneration work?”The game checks the clock, not a timer of its own: every 5 min, counted from the full hour in UTC, your HP and mana grow by a share of their maximum, at least 1 point each. A countdown in the game shows when the next mark comes.
Formula
at every 5 min mark of the clock: + max(1, ⌊5% × maximum⌋), for HP and mana alikeExample: With 400 max HP you regain 20 HP at every 5 min mark.
Data from game version 0.3.0 · f8531c1 (2026-10-01)Because marks are counted between your visits, you also regenerate while offline. From empty to full takes about 1 h 40 min without any other help.
Regeneration pauses while a fight or a dungeon run is going on. The marks that pass during that time do not count later, so a long fight does not “save up” regeneration.
Why don’t actions heal me?
Section titled “Why don’t actions heal me?”Finished gathering, crafting or meditation runs give items, EXP and Qi, but no HP. Use the waiting time instead: the next regeneration mark or a meal usually comes while an action runs.
How do I heal quickly?
Section titled “How do I heal quickly?”| Where | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sleep at the inn | Full HP and mana after 3 min, free, plus Rested |
| Sleep in a Stilt Hut | Full HP and mana after 3 min for 10 Gold, plus Rested |
| Rest in the Lighthouse | Full HP and mana after 3 min for 10 Gold, plus Rested |
| A meal at the Inn “The Weary Boar” | 50% of your max HP for 5 Gold, once every 5 min |
| Level up | Full HP and mana (not inside a dungeon) |
Rested gives +10% EXP for 1 h. Sleeping cannot be auto-repeated. It is a timed action, so Momentum shortens it.
Food or potion?
Section titled “Food or potion?”- Food heals a share of your max HP, so it grows with you. You can only eat outside fights. Some food also gives Well Fed.
- Healing potions heal a fixed amount and work in fights.
- Mana potions restore mana in a fight and between fights, because your mana carries over.
Antidote cures Poisoned and heals a little, also in a fight.
Lesser Cleansing Draught heals 50 HP and removes Weakened up to level 1. You drink it outside fights; alchemists brew it, see Crafting.

How does mana work between fights?
Section titled “How does mana work between fights?”Your mana stays as it is when a fight ends, just like your HP. Mana you regain during a fight (every round, and more with Wisdom) is lost when the fight ends: you leave with at most the mana you started with. Stamina, on the other hand, is full at the start of every fight.
First Aid therefore is not an endless heal. It costs 10 mana and heals 18% of your max HP, with a cooldown of 5 rounds.
What about dungeons?
Section titled “What about dungeons?”Inside a dungeon run there is no regeneration and you cannot sleep. HP carries over from room to room; mana and stamina recover a little after each room. See Sunken Shrine.
Tips and common mistakes
Section titled “Tips and common mistakes”- Time your fights with the clock. If the next mark is a minute away, wait for it before you heal with an item.
- Sleep before a hard fight, not after. A full heal before a boss or the tribulation is worth more than after it.
- Save mana for emergencies. With mana carrying over, a
First Aid cast early may be missing in the next fight.
- Carry food in the marshes and on the coast. The stilt hut and the lighthouse cost Gold every time; food and the regeneration marks cover small losses.
