Mistfen Marshes
This page was last checked against game version 0.2.2; the game is now at 0.3.0. Some explanations may be out of date (tables are always current).
The Mistfen Marshes are a misty swamp for characters from level 12 on. You reach them by ferry from Dawnmere Village. Here you fish, cut bog oak, mine bog iron, meditate at the Spirit Spring, break through to a new realm and enter the first dungeon.
How do you get there?
Section titled “How do you get there?”At the dock of Dawnmere Village you start Ferry to the Marshes. It is a timed action, so Momentum shortens it, and the fare is paid at the start (you get it back if you cancel). You need at least level 12.
There is no instant travel from the marshes. To go back, take Ferry to Dawnmere; it costs nothing, so you can never get stuck.
What can you do there?
Section titled “What can you do there?”The marsh has two places: Stiltwater with the stilt huts and the trader, and the Spirit Spring for meditation and cultivation.

- Fishing is its own profession. Fish are cooking ingredients, and rarely you pull up a
Swamp Pearl.
- Dig Bog Iron needs a
Pickaxe and trains Mining. From Mining level 60 you sometimes dig up a
Geode; see Mining.
- Meditate at the Spirit Spring gives more Qi than meditating in the forest.
- Breakthrough and the Heavenly Tribulation take place at the spring, see Cultivation and breakthrough.
Finished actions never heal you; see Recovery.
What does the Stiltwater trader sell?
Section titled “What does the Stiltwater trader sell?”The Stiltwater Trader sells supplies at marsh prices, a little above the village. The trader does not buy anything, so bring your loot back to Dawnmere Village to sell it.

Which monsters live there?
Section titled “Which monsters live there?”The encounter pool changes with your level: weaker monsters leave it as you outgrow them. The Fen Hag is an elite that only appears through a random event while you gather or meditate here. The
Mire Wyrm is the zone boss with a level requirement and a respawn timer; it drops the
Wyrm Scale you need for the
Foundation Pill. In a party fight it also breathes over several fighters at once.
Many marsh monsters have abilities such as poison, life drain or announced heavy strikes.
The Bog Slime is the marsh’s own slime. It counts for the slime achievements and drops
Bog Gel, which alchemists turn into
Antidote (recipe below). Every monster here belongs to a monster category; the table shows it under the name.

Where is the dungeon?
Section titled “Where is the dungeon?”The entrance to the Sunken Shrine is in the marshes. It needs level 20.
Tips and common mistakes
Section titled “Tips and common mistakes”- Buy your tools before you board. The market in the village sells the fishing rod and the pickaxe cheaper than the Stiltwater Trader.
- Bring antidotes and food. Poison hurts every round, and the stilt hut costs Gold every time.
- Sell in the village. Plan a trip back when your bag is full.
- Keep your tools. Selling your only
Fishing Rod,
Hatchet or
Pickaxe locks you out of those actions until you buy a new one.
